Mr. Boylan’s Classroom Is:
– A learning community, where everyone is responsible for their own success, as well as the success of their classmates. Participation is not optional! Everyone is expected to do their fair share.
– A place to grow. In this classroom, you only compete against yourself. You’re not being compared to your classmates, instead you are being assessed based on your own growth and demonstrated understanding of the material.
– A place to make, and embrace, mistakes. Understanding what doesn’t work can be just as valuable as understanding what does. MAKE MISTAKES (then learn from them)
– A place not just to learn math, but also important life skills such as problem solving, collaboration, and argumentation.
